These instructor-led courses are designed to help Scouters learn how to effectively carry out their Scouting roles. In most cases, completing the course will make a Scouter “trained” for the role(s) covered in the course. E-learning versions of some courses may be found on-line.
If you are a registered leader in California, you will already be compliant with your Council’s and California’s youth protection requirements. If you are not yet a registered leader in California, go to GGAC Safeguarding Youth where you will find detail information about Scouting America’s Youth Protection Training and California’s LiveScan and AB506 Mandated Reporter requirements.
Welcome new Cub Scouts parents and leaders to a fun and valuable half-day training session to help you get your Pack experience off on the right foot! This course is intended to provide the following positions with the information and tools they need to conduct a successful program for our youngest youth:

are considered ‘TRAINED’ for their position!
Welcome new Scouts BSA parents and leaders to a fun and valuable half-day training session to help you get your Troop experience off on the right foot! The course will provide these positions with the basic information and tools they need to lead successful Scout troops:
Scoutmasters & Assistant Scoutmasters
Leaders who complete this session, plus
♦ Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills,
♦ Hazardous Weather Training (Go to Training in my.scouting)
are considered ‘TRAINED’ for their position!
Stepping into a leadership role as a new Cub Scout parent can be both exciting and overwhelming. Cub Scout Position Specific Training is designed to provide all cub parents and leaders with the tools and knowledge necessary to confidently support their Cubs and contribute effectively to the pack’s success.
There are three tracks:
♦ Committee Chairs and Committee Members.
♦ Cubmasters and Assistant Cubmasters
♦ Den Leaders and Assistant Den Leaders
Scoutmaster/ASM Leader Specific Training is being offered to all Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, Committee Members, Arrow of Light Den Leaders, Commissioners and all registered Scouters. This training will help you provide the best possible quality program for your youth! You must be 18 years or older and registered with BSA to participate. This is a 5-hour class. It is separate from the IOLS training course.
