The course is an important and enjoyable part of the basic preparations for a Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, or any registered adult leader working in direct contact with Scouts.
It covers the outdoor skills expected of a New Scout through First Class Scout. The skills sessions presented in Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills closely follow the Scout Handbook.
Working as patrols, this hands-on course provides adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors. Upon completion, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Scouts the basic skills required to obtain their First Class rank.
