Climbing Awareness Level 1 Instructor

This is class to certify the adult Scouter as a Level 1 Climbing Instructor.  Scouting America requires at least one Level 1 and one Level 2 instructor to take a unit climbing.  This student gains the skills to create top roping anchors and safe belaying techniques for climbing and rappelling.  The opportunities and requirements for being trained as a Level 2 climbing instructor will be discussed.  This program consists of one day of classroom training, two or more hours in a local climbing gym, and one to two days on the rocks.  A minimum of four students is required.
